A New Imaging Chain for Cardiac Catheterization Systems
     
 

The advanced technology in NovaRay’s system delivers major improvements in image quality and radiation reduction, as well as unique multi-slice tomographic imaging capabilities. NovaRay has designed an entirely new imaging chain for cardiac catheterization systems. The most important aspects of this technology are:

Scanning x-ray source with proprietary cooling

Real-time multi-slice image reconstruction


NovaRay’s enabling inventions combine inverse geometry, consisting of a large-area scanning x-ray source and a small-area detector array, with real-time multi-slice image reconstruction. Implementing an inverse geometry system to meet the requirements of the cardiac catheterization lab required the development of three separate high-performance subsystems: a scanning x-ray source, an x-ray detector array, and an image-reconstruction computer.
